Traffic Control

There is so much traffic in São Paulo that the government stepped in to control it. Depending on which number your license plate ends with, you have a designated day of the week when your can't drive during rush hour (from 7-10 a.m. and 5-8 p.m). It's called the "rodízio." An interesting idea, but annoying I'm sure. Right now the transportation in the city is not very good. Bibiana says they're working on expanding the subway, but the project won't be finished until 2009. In the meantime, we just have to deal with the psychos behind the wheel.

Metro Manila is the same way. That's why Virginia has so many cars!
