I'm really enjoying learning the language. In fact, here I get to do two of the most enjoyable things I know - speaking a foreign language and getting to know new people.
What makes it extra tricky are the different accents. Even in the state of São Paulo (different than the city), there are 33 main districts, and each one has a different accent. I've already heard three different correct ways to say "Boa noite" ("good night"). You can pronounce it:
1. "boa noychay"
2. "boa noytay"
3. "boa noych"
Because the city of São Paulo has people from all over the state, the multiple styles of speech are all around.
