One of my greatest accomplishments thus far: I finish my first book in Portuguese. Turns out "Barbie Gets To Know Brazil" was a wise purchase. It's right up my alley. Barbie guides the reader through the various vast regions of Brazil in just 21 pages (23 if you count the pages where Barbie asks you to write about your favorite place and attach a vacation photo). So it's no Grapes of Wrath, as books donned with glitter usually don't win the Pulitzer, or any prize. But it was the perfect piece of literature for me at this stage of my language development. Highly recommended for travelers like me, or 8 to 12-year-old Brazilian girls.
